The Community Services Department

Community Services administers four broad areas of the Municipality’s responsibilities:

• Recreation and Culture;
• Engineering;
• Public Works Operations; and
• Environmental Services:
• Water Distribution;
• Wastewater Treatment; and
• Solid Waste Collection.

The Director is responsible for policy direction and general administrative oversight of the four divisions noted above.

Manager of Recreation and Culture

Matters directly related to the Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex (F.T. Sherk Aquatic & Fitness Center, Heinz and Unico Arenas), the Municipal Marina, sports and recreation programming, arts and culture, and special events.

This division provides the Municipalities front-line contact with the Citizens of Leamington in Recreation Facilities and programs, Culture, and many activities that enhance the richness and quality of life for residents.

Manager of Engineering Services

Matters directly related to engineering and drainage, design and construction of roads and sewers, pumping stations, street lights, bridges, traffic control, and transit service.

 Manager of Public Works Operations

Matters related to ongoing maintenance of roads and sidewalks, winter control, trees, parks and ball diamonds, roadside drainage, traffic signs, cemetery interments and general municipal infrastructure and fleet.
