Official Plan Amendment
An Official Plan Amendment (OPA) is a process in order to change the use of a property and the policies of development. There are generally ten steps in the processing of an OPA, which takes a minimum of 180 days. In the event that the Municipality either refuses or neglects to act, The Planning Act provides that the applicant may appeal the amendment to the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) and the matter is decided at an OMB Hearing. More information is available on the application form.
