Leamington recognizes the importance of small business to our local economy. Most Canadian businesses have fewer than 50 employees yet create 90% of all new jobs. Small business is able to succeed in today's rapidly changing world because they are more flexible, aggressive and stable.
The Economic Development Office has created a guide to help perspective entrepreneurs explore the possibilities of self employment. To download a copy of this guide click below.

Canada Business Ontario (CBO) is a federal/provincial service for business jointly managed by Industry Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Government Services. CBO’s goal is to help business grow and succeed through streamlined access to reliable, up-to-date information on government services which is tailored to the needs of SMEs and entrepreneurs.
The information available from CBO is not only valuable to students of business administration, but to any student considering starting a business in their field. As part of an ongoing effort to engage the small business community and expand our network base, we would like to highlight the following partnership opportunities between CBO and your institution:
- CBO Collateral: our print material provides relevant information about Canada Business Ontario in a concise, user-friendly manner. The information available to potential entrepreneurs would be a valuable addition to a Career Services Centre;
- Internet Syndication: the syndication program allows our partners to subscribe to the CBO website and select content to be reproduced onto their website. CBO’s Market Research tool and Guide to Writing a Business Plan are very suitable to any business program and would compliment the existing content available on your website. We invite you to visit www.canadabusiness.ca to familiarize yourself with the information and content available to syndicate.
Our print material can be made available for your student orientation packages or career centre at no cost.
