DRAINAGE

The Drainage Superintendent’s responsibilities include over 300 municipal drains through the requirements of The Drainage Act, Tile Loan Act, Policies and Procedures of the Municipality of Leamington and other Federally and Provincially funded programs more specifically described:

Construction of the new East Side Arterial Road Drain

  • Inspection services and on site superintending for the maintenance, repair, improvement and construction of municipal projects under the Drainage Act;

  • Oversee pumped drainage systems operations including monitoring finances, annual meetings, Commissioner and Operator fees, insurance coverage and record keeping.  Co-ordinate and conduct annual meetings to update Commissioners and Operators on any new developments.

  • Provide inspection service for tile loan applications pursuant to the Tile Drainage Act.

  • Assist Landowners with Federal and Provincial Grants such as Agricultural Drainage Infrastructure Program (ADIP) and the Environmental Farm Plans

  • Assist in the review process for New Development

  • Review Committee of Adjustment severance applications for drainage requirements
