The Leamington Police Service is a proud user of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) Constable Selection System. By using this system, the Leamington Police Service is provided with the guiding principles and requirements of the standardized hiring process for the position of Police Constable for the Province of Ontario. The Constable Selection System was designed, in association with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, for determining the suitability of applicants for the position of Police Constable.
As a Model 2 Police Service, the Leamington Police Service has elected to contract with the OACP to utilize the Constable Selection System and contracts out the Pre-Interview Assessment with a licenced holder, Applicant Testing Services (ATS). ATS is responsible for the first 4 stages of the hiring process including: outreach strategies/plans, job awarenesss/self selection, applicant registration submission and assessment. During the assessment stage, standardized testing is administered by ATS and includes writing an aptitude test, writing a communication test, and engaging in a physical skills and abilities test including physical fitness, vision and hearing tests and performing a video based simulation test.
Successful candidates are issued an OACP Certificate of Results which allows them to proceed to the application submission stage. During this stage, applicants submit their completed applications, along with other required information to a police service that has advertised for a Police Constable position. Please note that the Leamington Police Service will only accept applications during an active hiring process.
