Welcome to the Leamington Fire Services. In the province of Ontario, the fire service operates under the Fire Protection & Prevention Act, 1997 and local bylaws that regulate the types and level of service provided. The FPPA 1997 is available for viewing on the Ontario Fire Marshal’s website. The department is in charge of maintaining and updating the municipal Emergency Response Plan, which is current and considered a living document. We are funded by local property taxes and, as with all other municipal departments, are here to serve the residents of Leamington. The department provides rescue and suppression services, as well as inspection, training, public education and fire prevention services. The department operates from a single hall, located at 5 Clark Street West, Leamington.

Since 1872, the fire department has been serving the citizens of Leamington with a level of dedication that has never wavered. Many changes have occurred over the years in both the areas of response, services delivered, equipment, size and makeup and are further explained in the history of the department.

As with any organization, it is the members that make the system work, administration can steer the ship but it is dead in the water without it’s crew to make it run. I am proud to be a member of such a unique group of men and women that serve the citizens of this community.

In the past, requests for shoulder flashes, etc. have come to Leamington Fire Services via our website, email, regular mail and by phone.  However, because emergency services agencies worldwide must be more security conscious, Leamingon Fire Services will no longer send shoulder flashes.
