CLEARING CUSTOMS IN CANADA
After securing your boat, the CAPTAIN or MASTER of the vessel ONLY is permitted ashore and must report to the nearest Customs Designated Reporting Centre. You are then required to proceed to the Registration Desk inside the Marina office to complete dockage requirements. Marina personnel will issue with a permit for recording your 10-digit Customs number.
This permit must then be placed visibly on the dock side window of your vessel so Customs Officers can see if need be. There is no physical Customs Office in Leamington you will be required to make the call from a land line. United States residents are reminded that by law they must report to Canada Customs immediately upon their arrival in Leamington. other persons onboard may not leave the boat for any reason until clearance has been given by a Canadian Customs Officer |
