Council Matters - November 24, 2020

At the Council meeting on November 24, 2020 at 6:00 PM, Council:

• Received a presentation from the Lower Thames Conservation Authority regarding the 2021 Budget.

• Requested that consultation with municipalities and conservation authorities be undertaken prior to the passing of any legislation that amends the Conservation Authorities Act and Planning Act, and in particular, prior to the third reading of Bill 229, Schedule 6.

Council Considers - November 24, 2020

Leamington Council will hold an electronic Council meeting on November 24, 2020 at 6:00 PM to consider the following agenda items:

• A presentation from the Lower Thames Conservation Authority regarding the 2021 Budget.

• A presentation regarding the Regional Community Safety and Well-Being Plan.

• Awarding the contract to H.E. Construction, for the E.F. Ives Drain in the amount of $48,099.66 plus applicable taxes.

Council Matters - November 17, 2020

At the Special Council meeting on November 17, 2020 at 6:00 PM, Council:

• Approved the draft municipal 2021 Fee Schedule. Changes to municipal fees are effective as of January 1, 2021.  

• Approved the internal On-Call Pay Policy. The policy identifies two different categories of on-call responsibilities for non-union salaried employees.

Penalty and Interest Charges Reinstated in Leamington

The Municipality of Leamington’s waiving of penalty and interest charges on all outstanding amounts including property tax and water/wastewater bill payments will end on November 30, 2020, with interest and fees to be applied to amounts past due as of December 1, 2020.

The waiver of penalty and interest fees began March 25, 2020 to provide financial relief to residents as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
