The Union Water Supply System (UWSS) is currently undertaking necessary maintenance and rehabilitation activities at its Ruthven Water Treatment Plant. This work started in January 2021 and was scheduled for completion by the end of May 2021. However, due to supply chain issues associated with COVID-19, this work has been prolonged for an additional 4-6 weeks. Notice of Study Completion - Southwest Leamington Storm Water Management Environmental Assessment and Design

The Municipality of Leamington retained Dillon Consulting Limited to complete the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study to identify a stormwater management (SWM) strategy for the Southwest Leamington Urban Area (SW Urban Area).

Leamington Splash Pad Update

On Friday, May 21, the Ontario Government amended the regulation related to outdoor splash pads. While originally restricted until Step One of the province’s Roadmap to Reopen plan, splash pads have since been added to the list of amenities allowed to reopen with restrictions.

Municipal staff are working to prepare the Tomato Splash Pad located at Seacliff Park to reopen according to provincial regulations. A mandatory inspection by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is scheduled for Friday, May...

Municipality of Leamington Working to Reopen Outdoor Recreational Amenities

The Municipality of Leamington is working to reopen outdoor recreational amenities following the Ontario Government’s announcement that a number of amenities can reopen with restrictions effective Saturday, May 22 at 12:01 AM.

Effective May 22, the following outdoor recreational amenities in Leamington will begin to reopen: 

  • Baseball diamonds
  • Soccer fields
  • Tennis and basketball courts
  • Skate park
  • Outdoor fitness equipment
  • Picnic sites and picnic tables

Casual use of the above noted facilities is permitted....
