Leamington Council will hold a Public Meeting on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers at the Leamington Municipal Building to receive comments regarding Official Plan Amendment Application OPA #6 and Zoning By-law Application ZBA #109 to allow the existing Leamington GMC Dealership as a permitted use in the Commercial Uptown Designation and Zone. Reinvent This Space Finalists Selected

Nine entrepreneurs who want to set up shop in uptown Leamington are finalists in the Reinvent This Space contest.
Spearheaded by Mayor Hilda MacDonald, the contest will see the winner get a year's worth of rent up to $15,000 to locate a new business in uptown Leamington. The winner will also receive in-kind professional services from local business leaders to help the venture succeed.

At the Council meeting held on September 24, 2019, Council:
- A Public Meeting was held under the Planning Act. Council approved an application to sever a parcel of land at 1331 Mersea Road 1 and add it to the abutting vacant farm to the west. Council also approved a Zoning By-law Amendment Application to change the zoning of the retained parcel from Agricultural General to Agricultural Hobby Farm.

The Municipality of Leamington has prepared a Stormwater Master Drainage Study for the Reid Drain, Silver Creek, and Big Creek Watersheds. The study area is located within the jurisdictions of both the Essex Region Conservation Authority and the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority.
