Leamington Cancels Municipal Events and Summer Day Camp through to Labour Day

To slow the spread of COVID-19, the Municipality of Leamington is extending the cancellation of municipal events and summer day camp through to September 7, 2020 (Labour Day).
The decision to cancel municipal events and summer day camp is in response to the provincial emergency order that prohibits organized public events and social gatherings of more than 10 people, and supports Public Health direction that physical distancing is critical to slowing the spread of COVID-19.

Temporary Road Closure – Alderton Street

Contractors working on behalf of the Municipality of Leamington will be completing a culvert replacement project on Alderton Street beginning Friday, July 17, 2020 for approximately two weeks.
During construction, Alderton Street from Garrison Avenue to Rudgate Lane will be closed to traffic.
Access for local area residents will be maintained; however, no through traffic will be permitted.
All work operations and closures are weather dependent and subject to change.

At a meeting held July 14, 2020, Leamington Council further extended financial relief measures to help residents and businesses manage the impacts of COVID-19. The move follows Council’s previous decisions to waive all penalties and interest charges on municipal payments since March 25, 2020.

Road Closure - John Street and Queens Avenue

The Municipality of Leamington has begun work on the John Street sewer separation and road reconstruction project. The project is estimated to continue through to November 2020.
For the duration of the project, Queens Avenue from Talbot Street West to John Street, and John Street from Queens Avenue to Erie Street North will be closed to vehicular traffic.
Access for local area residents will be maintained; however, no through traffic will be permitted.
