Term of Office
The term of office is four years, beginning on December 1, 2018 until November 14, 2022.

In order to ensure the process of submitting your nomination is as efficient as possible, it is recommended that you make an appointment with the Clerk/Returning Officer, who can be reached at 519-326-5761 or by email at clerks@leamington.ca.
Nomination forms are available at the Leamington Municipal Office, 111 Erie Street North and must be signed by the candidate and filed in person or by an agent. Nominations are accepted weekdays throughout the Nomination Period commencing May 1, 2018 (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM) until Nomination Day, July 27, 2018 (9:00 AM to 2:00 PM).
Nominations for the English Public and English Catholic school boards may be filed at the Leamington Municipal Office.
Nominations for the French Public school board may be filed at the City of Windsor Municipal Office, located at 350 City Hall Square, Windsor.
Nominations for the French Separate school board may be filed at the Town of Lakeshore Municipal Office, located at 419 Notre Dame Street, Belle River.
A School Board Candidate must be:
- a resident in the area of jurisdiction of the board;
- a Canadian citizen;
- at least 18 years old;
- eligible to be an elector of that school board for which the person is a candidate;
- not disqualified by any legislation from holding office
- qualifications as described in section 219 of the Education Act.
A candidate, must remain qualified throughout the election and, if elected, throughout the term of office.
Election Campaign Period
The day a candidate files their nomination for office is when their election campaign period begins. Their campaign period ends on December 31, 2018. A contribution shall not be made to or accepted by or on behalf of a person unless he or she is a candidate.
