2023 dog tags available for purchase

Dog owners in Leamington are required to register their dog(s) by purchasing a dog tag each year. Not only is it a municipal by-law, but this simple process will also help reunite you with your pet if it is lost. 

Fees

Dog tags are $20 up to and including March 31, 2023. On or after April 1, 2023, dog tag fees double to $40.

As part of the Municipality’s ongoing effort to modernize services and enhance customer service, dog tags can now be purchased online at leamington.ca/dogs.

Alternatively, you can attend the Leamington Municipal Building to purchase your tag or mail your payment along with your 2023 renewal form to: Municipality of Leamington, 111 Erie Street North, Leamington, ON N8H 2Z9. Payment can be made by cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to "Municipality of Leamington". Cash is no longer accepted.

Tags

All dog tags are permanent for the lifetime of your dog. Your dog should have a tag with a four-digit number and the tag should not have a year. You will not receive a new tag unless you are registering a dog for the first time or require a replacement.

Please note that residents are allowed no more than two dogs in a household or any premises unless the property is licensed as an approved dog kennel.

There is a fine of up to $500 for not registering your dog.
