Boil Water Advisory Issued for All Consumers of the Wheatley Water Distribution System
Dr. Mehdi Aloosh, Medical Officer of Health, Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, has issued a boil water advisory for waterline system consumers serviced by the Wheatley Water Distribution System. This boil water advisory affects the following locations within the Municipality of Leamington:
- Milo Road
- Kay Avenue
- Beach Avenue
- Pulley Road
- A portion of Fox Run Road (addresses 2404 to 2418 Fox Run Road)
- Marentette Avenue
- Particia Avenue
- Tampa Avenue
- Miami Avenue
- Lakeshore Drive
- Julien Street
- Silver Avenue
- Carr Avenue
- Cotterie Park
- A portion of Mersea Road 2 (addresses 2120 to 2235 Mersea Road 2)
- Hickson Road
This boil water advisory only applies to Leamington addresses noted above that are serviced by the Wheatley Drinking Water System. Please refer to the attached map.
The reason for the boil water advisory is due to low pressures in the distribution system following a fire at the treatment plant.
The Health Unit is advising that only bottled water, or water brought to a hard boil for one (1) minute should be used for consumption, infant feeding, or food and ice preparation. For further information on boil water advisories, please visit the Boil Water Advisory webpage.
