Council Considers – June 10, 2025
At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, June 10, 2025, Council will:
- Hold a public meeting under the Planning Act to consider:
- An Official Plan Amendment to amend the land designation from Hamlet to Agricultural for the land located at 720 and 730 Mersea Road 8. Council will also consider a Zoning By-law Amendment to rezone the land located at 720 Mersea Road 8 from Residential Zone (R1) to Agricultural Restricted Zone (A2) to support the development of a greenhouse.
- Consider approving the request to fund all development charges related to the Building Bridges Erie Shores Housing Project located at 310 Sherk Street.
- Consider authorizing a seasonal No Left Turn restriction at Mersea Road East and Point Pelee Drive to reduce vehicle backups along Mersea Road East. Council will also consider approving the installation of wayfinding signage to direct traffic toward the preferred entry route through Point Pelee Drive.
- Consider approving the 2025 Service Agreement between the Corporation of the City of Windsor and the Corporation of the Municipality of Leamington for the continued delivery of the Pathway to Potential (P2P) poverty reduction programs.
- Consider a by-law to regulate the discharges into the municipal sewage works.
- Consider assuming the Municipal services installed in the Bevel Line Village Subdivision Phase 1. Council will also consider authorizing Administration to accept and hold a deposit of $10,000 for the correction of minor grate work at the sanitary pump station.
- Consider directing Administration to proceed with issuing a Request for Proposal seeking a consultant to develop an Arts and Culture Master Plan.
- Consider appointing Mayor Hilda MacDonald as proxyholder for the Municipality of Leamington to cast its shareholders’ votes at Essex Power Corporation’s 2024 shareholders’ annual meeting. Council will also consider appointing John Herhalt as an alternate proxy holder.
