Leamington Council will hold an electronic Special Council meeting on March 1, 2022, at 4:45 PM to consider repealing H00 - Use of the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre and Entry into Municipal Facilities – Vaccination Policy.

Effective February 17, 2022, the provincial government amended certain public health and workplace safety measures which included allowing for increased capacity for indoor and outdoor social gatherings and public events; removing capacity limits in a number of indoor public settings where proof of vaccination was required, including gyms and meeting and event spaces; and seating capacity in spectator areas of facilities used for sports and recreational fitness activities, concert venues and theatres at 50 per cent.

On February 25, 2022, the Windsor Essex Medical Officer of Health revoked the Letter of Instruction dated November 8, 2021, requiring each person, age 12 years and older who attends recreational facilities for the purpose of actively participating in organized sports, coaching, officiating or spectating at organized sports, to provide identification and proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or a valid medical exemption.
