Council Considers – May 9, 2023

At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, May 9, 2023, Council will:

  • Hold a Court of Revision under the Drainage Act to consider the following matter:
    • New bridges and an updated assessment schedule over the B & C Concession Road Drain West.
  • Hold a Public Meeting under the Planning Act to consider the following matter:
    • Consent Application to sever a 3.1 ha parcel of land from the existing vacant property located on the east side of Highway 77 and a Zoning By-law Application to rezone a portion of both the retained and severed lands from an Agricultural General Zone (A1) to a Commercial Industrial Zone (C4H).
  • Receive Consul Rodrigo Báez from the Leamington Mexican Consulate.
  • Consider a report regarding the installation of an all-way stop located at Sturgeon Meadows Avenue and Beniuk Court.
  • Consider a report regarding the Bridge 37 contractor tender results for the bridge located on Deer Run Road, approximately 0.25 km north of Mersea Road 2.
  • Consider a follow-up report regarding the appointment of an alternate Council Member to the Council of the County of Essex during an absence of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
  • Consider a request by a winner of the Reinvent This Space program to locate her new business outside of the Community Improvement Program (CIP) boundary area.
  • Consider recommendations made by the Municipal Grants Review Committee regarding the 2023 Municipal Community Partners and the allocation of the 2023 Municipal Grants.
  • Consider a report regarding the 2023 Ontario Dedicated Gas Tax Funds for Public Transportation Program, which benefit  both the LT-Go on-demand transit system and the Erie Shores Community Transit Service.
