Council Considers - November 23, 2021

Leamington Council will hold an electronic Council meeting on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 6:00 PM. Council will consider:

  • Entering into an agreement with the owner of parcel roll #670-00600 to build the proposed wetland pond, to be incorporated into the Lebo Creek municipal drain and that the $53,000 variance be funded from the Drainage Reserve.
  • Approving a request to submit an application for a Functional Design of County Wide Active Transportation System (CWATS) segment Leam-22 (Cherry Lane to Regatta) and that the Municipality of Leamington commit to share the costs for the preparation of a Functional Design for CWATS segment LEAM-22 up to $32,400.
  • Accepting the municipal works installed in the Golfwood Lakes Development Phase 2 with the required maintenance period to begin November 1, 2021.
  • Approving the utilization of the services of the Essex Region Conservation Authority in the role of Risk Management Official/Risk Management Inspector for the Municipality of Leamington Source Water Protection Plans in both the Essex Region Source Protection Area and the Thames Sydenham & Region Source Protection Area.
  • Awarding the 2022-2026 Waste Collection Contract to GFL Environmental Inc. (GFL) in the amount of $772,221 plus applicable taxes.
  • Authorizing Administration to temporarily suspend applying the Council approved Tampering Charge (as approved in By-law 52-2)1 until March 1, 2022, unless it is a deliberate act to reconnect the service on a disconnected service due to non-payment and directing Administration to focus on educating the Leamington Water and Sewer customers on the necessity to only permit licensed Municipal Operators to access Municipal Water Services infrastructure.
