Council Considers - September 22, 2020
Leamington Council will hold an electronic Council meeting on September 22, 2020 at 6:00 PM to consider the following staff reports:
COVID-19 Related Reports
- To either reinstate all penalties and interest on any overdue balances as of October 1, 2020 OR to waive all penalties and interest on any overdue balances through to and including December 31, 2020 and to waive all returned cheque or electronic payment fees through to and including December 31, 2020
Regular Business Reports
- Consideration of a by-law to regulate the keeping of pigeons within the Municipality of Leamington. The proposed by-law:
- requires that any person keeping pigeons be a member of a named association;
- limits the number of pigeons that may be kept;
- requires that pigeons be kept only in an agriculture zone;
- sets out the requirements for the enclosure in which they are kept;
- indicates that they may only be outside of such enclosure for the purpose of training or participating in a race; and
- grants powers to any officer to remove an enclosure that does not comply with the by-law
- Receiving the annual report on the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee and appointing members for the 2020-2021 term
- Consideration with respect to changes to the Open Burn Complaint Fees. Currently the fees are $250 plus HST for the Duty Officer to attend the open burn complaint and $477 plus HST for the Duty Squad to attend for an afterhours call.
