Council Matters – August 10, 2021
At the Leamington Council meeting on August 10, 2021, Council:
- Held a Court of Revision under the Drainage Act regarding the New Access Culverts over 4th Concession Road Drain.
- Held a Public Meeting under the Planning Act regarding Zoning By-law Amendment 233, 458 Mersea Road 21 and permitted the creation of a second dwelling unit within the existing single detached dwelling.
- Held a Public Meeting under the Planning Act regarding Zoning Amendment Application 235, 250 Oak Street East, and approved the changing of the zoning on the subject lands from Commercial Highway Zone to Commercial Shopping Centre to establish permitted uses and parking space requirements for the existing plaza.
- Held a Public Meeting under the Municipal Act and approved the Property Tax Adjustments for 2021.
- Assumed all of the municipal works installed in Golfwood Lakes Development Phase 1.
- Denied the request to waive the Amphitheatre Fees for Showtime Productions.
- Approved the Building Permits Change of Use Policy regarding Boarding/Rooming Houses.
- Awarded the 2021 Crack Sealing Program Tender to Shepley Road Maintenance in the amount of $53,940 (plus applicable taxes).
- Accepted a $25,000 grant for the partial funding of the construction of a splash pad at Mersea Park from the Honey Family Foundation. Committed to the reconstruction of the park in the 2022 Parks Capital budget and approved $40,000 for the design and preparatory work in 2021.
