Council Matters – August 23, 2022
Leamington Council held a hybrid Council meeting on August 23, 2022 at 6:00 PM. Council:
- Held a Court of Revision under the Drainage Act to consider the Reid Drain – 11th Concession Branch New Access Culvert and passed By-law 53-22, being a by-law to provide for an Installation of a New Access over the Reid Drain – 11th Concession Road Branch in the Municipality of Leamington in the County of Essex.
- Adopted the Engineer’s Report for the Changes in Assessment to the Reid Drain – East Part of the West Part, prepared by N.J. Peralta Engineering dated July 6th, 2022, for parcels 920-00700, 920-00705 & 920-00900 pursuant to the provisions of the Drainage Act, Section 65(3) and (4).
- Adopted the Engineer’s Report for the changes in assessment to the Lundy Drain, prepared by N.J. Peralta Engineering Limited dated July 25th, 2022, for parcel 830-01400 pursuant to the provisions of the Drainage Act, Section 65(3) and (4).
- Received a report with regard to the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) Grants and authorized administration to enter into standard CIP Agreements for a number of properties located in the Municipality with the exception of the electric vehicle charging station at 26 Setterington Street.
- Directed Administration to prepare a report regarding the inclusion of electric vehicle charging stations in the renovation grant program.
- Entered into a third-party billing agreement with the City of Windsor for Child Care Subsidy program with the Children Services department from 2021 to 2022.
- Directed Administration to seek a lease termination clause within the Licence Extension and Amendment Agreement with Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario as Represented by the Minister of Government ad Consumer Services for the Courtroom located at 7 Clark Street West and bring a further report to Council in connection with the same.
