Council Matters - December 14, 2021
At the Leamington Council meeting held December 14, 2021, Council:
- Held a Public Meeting under the Drainage Act and approved the Hooker Drain – Culvert request at Parcel 750-03500 and Bridge Replacement at Parcel 750-03400.
- Adopted the Engineer’s report for the Changes in Assessment to the Reid Drain- West Branch, prepared by Baird AE for parcels 920-04400 and 920-04500.
- Appointed N.J. Peralta Engineering to prepare a report on the Dresser Drain and 4th Concession Drain in order to accommodate for the County of Essex CWATS Master Plan.
- Held a Public Meeting under the Planning Act and approved ZBA No. 244 to provide relief from Section 4.54 of Zoning By-law 890-09, as amended, to permit the temporary placement and use of two (2) storage containers for a period not to exceed 3 years (2023).
- Received the 2021 annual report of activities and expenses of the Leamington Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee.
- Awarded the four-year Maintenance of Traffic Control Signals and Related Electrical Devices T07-21-070-RTS be awarded to Ron Field and Son Electrical Ltd. and approved establishing a traffic signal parts inventory in the amount of $50,000.
- Authorized the provision of health and safety consulting services by Systems 24-7 - Dunk and Associates be extended for 2022 and 2023 in the amount of $14,000, for each year.
- Authorized the provision of benefits consulting services by Aon Consulting be extended for 2022.
- Approved the purchase of a play structure for Scout Memorial Park in the amount of $58,695 (plus HST) from Henderson Recreation, the purchase of a play structure for the Kinsmen Baseball Complex in the amount of $49,895 (plus HST) from Openspace Solutions, the purchase of a play structure for Eastside Park in the amount of $57,938 (plus HST) from Blue Imp Recreation, the purchase of a play structure for Henry Park in the amount of $58,608 (plus HST) from ABC Recreation, and the purchase of a play structure for Pearl Park in the amount of $59,573 (plus HST) from Park N Play Design.
- Passed a by-law to provide for the 2022 interim tax levy in the Municipality of Leamington.
- Passed a by-law to provide for the 2022 borrowing limit for the Municipality of Leamington.
- Authorized entering into an agreement with Everest Signs to finalize the design, supply, and install a new sign at the Leamington Arts Centre in the amount of $30,500 plus HST.
