Council Matters - July 23, 2019

At the Council meeting held on July 23, 2019, Council:

• Adopted the Engineer’s Report for the Changes in Assessment to the Silver Creek Drain, Silver Creek Drain – West Branch, Lebo Creek Drain – 7th Concession Road Branch and Lebo Creek Drain – Northwest Branch, prepared by Baird AE.

• Received a Traffic Impact Study from RC Spencer Associates Inc. regarding John Street, Erie Street North to Queens Avenue and approved John Street from Erie Street North to the Queens Avenue Parking Lot to be converted to a one-way west bound street.

• Received a report regarding the 2019 Budget Restatement for the Municipality.

• Received a report regarding the Drinking Water System Inspection for the Leamington (Union) Distribution System and the Leamington (Wheatley) Distribution System.
• Approved the extension of the contract for a second Fire Prevention Officer to Dec 31, 2019.

• Accepted a grant from the Honey Family Foundation Endowment Fund through the Windsor-Essex Community Foundation to be used for Communities in Bloom in conjunction with the Leamington Horticultural Society.

• Approved retaining an external third party to review and make suggestions for Leamington’s Police Services.

• Approved a resolution supporting the location of the new Regional Hospital for Windsor-Essex County.

• Deferred a report regarding Cannabis Retail Stores.
