Council Matters – November 29, 2022

At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, November 29, 2022, Council:

  • Held a Public Meeting under the Planning Act and approved the following matters:
    • Zoning By-Law Amendment Application No. 262 regarding the rezoning of the consolidated farm property at 117-127 County Road 18 from Agricultural Residential (A5) Zone and Agricultural Hobby Farm (A3) Zone to Agricultural Hobby Farm (A3-28) Zone.
    • Zoning By-law Amendment Application ZBA No. 263 regarding the removal of the Holding (H) Symbol from lands known as Phase 3 of the Destiny Estates Plan of Subdivision.
  • Supported the development, construction and operation of Long Term Reliability Projects within the Municipality, subject to all applicable municipal and provincial by-laws and standards as determined by the Municipality.
  • Authorized the renewal of the Radio and GPS tracking contract from SkyMobile for an additional three year term commencing July 2023.
  • Awarded the contract to complete the Fire Services Master Plan to The Loomex Group to be funded through the Fire Services reserve.
  • Appointed Rood Engineering, under Section 78 of the Drainage Act, to legalize the Cotterie Park Berm in its new location on Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) lands.
  • Approved the purchase of a 2022 Freightliner 108SD diesel cab and chassis, dump body, plow, salter and necessary attachments.
  • Awarded the 2023 to 2025 Fuel Supply Contract to ARIS Co-operative Ltd.
  • Received the 2022 annual report of activities and expenses of the Leamington Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee (LMHAC).
  • Appointed members of Council to several boards and committees.
  • Approved the 2023 Leamington Council meeting schedule.
  • Authorized the demolition of cottages and all necessary preliminary works and remediation at 50 Gold Coast Road and the clearing trees and brush at 34 and 50 Gold Coast Road.
  • Accepted the municipal services installed in the Southwind Estates Subdivision Phase 2 and amended the comprehensive traffic by-law as follows:
    • Schedule D – No Parking Areas
