Council Matters – September 13, 2022

At the Leamington Council meeting held on September 13, 2022 Council: 

  • Held a Public Meeting under the Drainage Act for the Lundy Drain – Section 78, adopted the report provided by N.J. Peralta Engineering Ltd. dated July 28, 2022, and gave By-law 60-22 first and second readings. 
  • Held a Public Meeting under the Planning Act and approved Zoning By-Law Amendment Application No. 238 related to 824, 828, and 834 Mersea Road 4 and 2 abutting farm parcels. 
  • Held a Public Meeting under the Planning Act and denied Official Plan Amendment Application No. 14 and Zoning By-law Amendment Application No. 261 related to 4 Bruce Avenue. 
  • Received a report to provide for the abandonment of a Section 4 report for the Bert Pulley Drain Southside Extension – Section 40 provided by Rood Engineering dated March 4, 2022. 
  • Approved including funding in the 2023 Budget for the detailed design of the length of the Northeast Truck Sewer proposed along Seacliff Drive, extending from Peter Avenue to Eastside Arterial Road. 
  • Adopted the Active School Travel (AST) Charter for Windsor-Essex County. 
  • Directed Administration to bring forward a by-law to borrow funds for municipal capital drainage performed on the McCracken Drain - Tile Improvement. 
  • Denied the Erie Street Streetscaping functional design and directed Administration to gather public comments regarding the Talbot Street Streetscaping design. 
  • Deferred a report regarding the amendment of Fees By-law 68-21.
