Leamington Extending Proof of Vaccination Requirements for All Indoor Municipal Facilities

Default Interior

The Municipality of Leamington is expanding its proof of vaccination policy to include entry into all indoor municipal facilities.

Beginning October 30, 2021, the Municipality will require that anyone 12 years of age or older provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (or medical exemption) and proof of government issued identification (ID), prior to entering or accessing any of the following locations, with some exceptions:

  • Leamington Municipal Building
  • Leamington Fire Station
  • Lakeside Marina Building and Pavilion
  • Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre
  • Public Works Building
  • Public Works Garage
  • Pollution Control Centre
  • Water Services Building

Any member of the public who wishes to enter a municipal facility will be required to be vaccinated unless the entry is for the purposes of using a washroom or obtaining customer service and the service can be provided with the use of a barrier. For example, a person who wishes to enter the Municipal Building to pay his or her taxes may enter without providing evidence of vaccination. This exception does not apply to the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre (NFFRC). Any entrant to the NFFRC must be vaccinated.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Prior to entering municipal facilities, all visitors will be required to show proof of vaccination along with ID. Once indoors, all health and safety guidelines, and protocols must be followed including maintaining physical distancing and wearing a mask. Respectful behaviour is also expected towards all visitors and employees.

Residents are encouraged to access a variety of municipal services online at leamington.ca. Service requests can be made at www.leamington.ca/reportanissue. For inquiries, contact Customer Service at 519-326-5761.
