Notice of Study Commencement - Traffic Study for Erie Street South, Oak Street, Sherk Street and Seacliff Drive

The Municipality of Leamington has retained McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers to undertake a study to develop a long-range vision for the area generally bounded by Erie Street South, Oak Street, Sherk Street, and Seacliff Drive, as illustrated in the attached map.
The study will involve:
- Identification of operational issues at key intersections and corridors within the study area.
- Address traffic concerns for all modes of travel, including pedestrian, cyclist, and transit.
- Address concerns relating to road user safety and crossings with special consideration for seniors, users with disabilities, and school children.
- Development of alternatives to improve active transportation network connectivity.
- Develop and evaluate alternatives to improve traffic operations within the study area.
There is an opportunity at any time during this study for interested persons to provide comments, questions, and concerns to the project team. Information collected for the study will be used in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Except for personal information, all comments will become part of the public record and included in project documentation.
At this time, we are requesting input on local traffic conditions, road safety, and transportation facilities within the study area and any other feedback and concerns you may have. An initial Public Information Session will be held in the fall of 2020 and is intended to present an overview of the study and existing condition.
A second information session will be scheduled to present alternatives, evaluation, and the study recommendations for public input.
