Our local healthcare facilities support a number of specialists and sub-specialists in every medical and surgical discipline.

Two hospitals located in Windsor and Erie Shores Health Care provide over 1,000 acute care beds. A Regional Cancer Centre located in Windsor specializes in cancer patient diagnosis and treatment.

Erie Shores Health Care provides a broad range of services including Cardiopulmonary, Dialysis, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency Room services, Maternal and Newborn facilities, inpatient and outpatient programs and a surgical program. The hospital will soon be adding a Women's Centre with Digital Mammography

 Long Term and Assisted Care
Twenty long-term care facilities currently service the area and construction has begun on 300 additional long-term care beds. For information on long-term care facilities and the intake process call 519-258-8211 or 1-888-447-4468.

Leamington's many retirement homes provide quality care for those looking for assisted living arrangements.

 Leamington Area Family Health Team
A Family Health Team (FHT) is an approach to primary health care that brings together different health care providers to co-ordinate the highest possible quality of care for you. The Leamington Area Family Health Team  is located in the Leamington Medical Village, directly across the street from Leamington hospital. For more information, call 519-322-1100.
 Finding a Doctor 
The Windsor-Essex Region is one of a very few communities in Ontario with family physicians who are accepting new patients. For help in finding a family physician contact the Essex County Medical Society or call 519-256-4611.
 Primary Health Care Clinic 
Located at 33 Princess Street Suite 450, Windsor Essex Community Health Care (WE CHC) operates a primary care clinic for clients without a primary care provider who meet the following criteria: children, youth, adults and seniors that are in need of a safe place to receive care and system navigation due to identified risk factors.  This is in addition to other services offered by WE CHC in Leamington.  For additional information, or to make an appointment phone: 519.258.6002 ext. 850 or visit www.wechc.org  
 Library

The Leamington Library is a division of the Essex County Library, a system of 14 libraries that provide quality materials and services, free of charge to all residents of Essex County. The Essex County Library was established by County Council in January, 1966. It replaced the Essex County Co-operative, which was a loose federation of independent municipal libraries. Today, with the financial support of the County of Essex and the Province of Ontario, the Essex County Library provides a collection of over 367,000 items and a wide range of services through its branch libraries.

Hours: Monday - Thursday (10:00am-8:00pm), Friday (10:00am-6:00pm), Saturday (10:00am-5:00pm), Sunday through the months of October to May (12:00am-4:00am). 

 Migrant Worker Community Program
The Municipality of Leamington is pleased to promote the Migrant Workers Community Program, which supports a positive lifestyle for the migrant workers in the Leamington and Kingsville area. The program has offered the popular bus trip to Niagara Falls for the employees working in the agricultural industry. The Migrant Workers Community Program also supports local employers and organizations by providing Spanish language services.
 Schools
Residents of Leamington can be assured that our schools offer the best education available. Our community is served by the Greater Essex County District School Board, the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board and the Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence. Education is available in English and French at both the elementary and high school levels. UMEI Christian High School also provides approved curriculum for those who are looking for a different option. Adult education, upgrading and English as a Second Language classes are available as well.

St. Clair College and the University of Windsor are located in Windsor with satellite campuses in Chatham. Both offer a range of in-demand programs as well as continuing education options. The University of Windsor houses the Schulich School of Medicine delivered through the University of Western Ontario. Other nearby post secondary institutions include the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus with programs specializing in agriculture and horticulture.

There are many independent Career Colleges located in Windsor as well.
