The Leamington Library is a division of the Essex County Library, a system of 14 libraries that provide quality materials and services, free of charge to all residents of Essex County. The Essex County Library was established by County Council in January, 1966. It replaced the Essex County Co-operative, which was a loose federation of independent municipal libraries. Today, with the financial support of the County of Essex and the Province of Ontario, the Essex County Library provides a collection of over 367,000 items and a wide range of services through its branch libraries. Hours: Monday - Thursday (10:00am-8:00pm), Friday (10:00am-6:00pm), Saturday (10:00am-5:00pm), Sunday through the months of October to May (12:00am-4:00am). |

Migrant Worker Community Program | ||||||||||
The Municipality of Leamington is pleased to promote the Migrant Workers Community Program, which supports a positive lifestyle for the migrant workers in the Leamington and Kingsville area. The program has offered the popular bus trip to Niagara Falls for the employees working in the agricultural industry. The Migrant Workers Community Program also supports local employers and organizations by providing Spanish language services. | ||||||||||
Schools | ||||||||||
Residents of Leamington can be assured that our schools offer the best education available. Our community is served by the Greater Essex County District School Board, the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board and the Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence. Education is available in English and French at both the elementary and high school levels. UMEI Christian High School also provides approved curriculum for those who are looking for a different option. Adult education, upgrading and English as a Second Language classes are available as well.
St. Clair College and the University of Windsor are located in Windsor with satellite campuses in Chatham. Both offer a range of in-demand programs as well as continuing education options. The University of Windsor houses the Schulich School of Medicine delivered through the University of Western Ontario. Other nearby post secondary institutions include the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus with programs specializing in agriculture and horticulture. There are many independent Career Colleges located in Windsor as well. |
