Penalty and Interest Charges Reinstated in Leamington

The Municipality of Leamington's waiving of penalty and interest charges on all outstanding amounts including property tax will end November 30, 2020.  Fees and interest will be applied to amounts past due as of December 1, 2020.  The waiver of penalty and interest fees began March 25, 2020 to provide financial relief to residents as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning December 1, 2020:

  • Late payment penalty and interest charges for property tax will be calculated on all outstanding taxes owing.
  • Non-sufficient funds fees will be applied to accounts where electronic payment or payment by cheque is returned.

Payment Options:

You can now pay your property tax bill online using Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit and Mastercard Debit.  Go to the                  Paying Your Taxes page to make an online payment.  Other payment options are also listed.

For the safety of the public and our employees, the Municipality is offering contact-free service delivery options and is no longer accepting cash payments.

The Municipality of Leamington collects revenue from property taxation in order to provide many important municipal services and programs you use every day. The payment of property tax supports the Municipality, the County of Essex and the local School Boards.
