Council Considers – April 14, 2026

At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, April 14, 2026, Council will:

  • Hold a Public Meeting under the Planning Act to consider an application to rezone 339 Erie Street North to permit the three existing houses to be used as farm working dwellings to support both on-site and off-site greenhouse operations.
  • Consider a report regarding resurfacing Mersea Road D.
  • Consider a request to retain the services of Sertas Group Limited to complete the geotechnical investigation and reporting services for the Northeast Trunk Sewer project.
  • Consider establishing a new Trans Canada Trail route from the existing Trans Canada Trail route on Wilkinson to the Pelee Island Ferry Terminal. Council will also consider rerouting the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail from Erie Street South and Seacliff Drive West to the two-way boardwalk cycle track and existing Multi-Use Trail through Seacliff Park.
  • Consider a report regarding non-eligible source recycling costs.
  • Consider 2026 property tax adjustments.
  • Consider awarding the contract for seventy-three new marine shore power pedestals to be installed at the Marina to Pedestal Solutions Incorporated in the amount of $370,195 plus HST.
  • Consider a policy with respect to internal staff working in municipal elections.
  • Consider a report regarding the OPP Detachment Board South Operating Budget.
  • Consider a report regarding the 2026 final tax levy by-law which details the billing and collection process for property taxes and establishes the property tax rates for the Municipality for the year.
  • Consider an engineer’s report regarding changes in the maintenance assessment schedules for Silver Creek Drain for certain properties.
  • Consider entering into a Preventative Maintenance Agreement with APG Neuros Inc. for annual preventative maintenance servicing of the high-speed turbo blower units at the Leamington Pollution Control Centre for a five-year term.
  • Consider removing 90 Townline Road South from the Municipal Register of Heritage Properties.
  • Consider removing 328 Mersea Road 7 from the Municipal Register of Heritage Properties.
  • Consider extending the fuel supply contract to AGRIS Co-operative Ltd. for an additional three-year term to supply and deliver fuel to the Public Works Yard, Marina and Pollution Control Centre.
  • Consider entering into a three-year agreement with Ambassador Security Limited for the provision of Marina Security Services at a cost of $55,750 plus HST for 2026, $57,423 plus HST for 2027 and $59,146 plus HST for 2028.
