Council Considers – June 23, 2026

At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Council will consider:

  • Holding a Public Meeting under the Drainage Act to consider authorizing the installation of a new access bridge over the Stevenson Drain.

  • Holding a Public Meeting under the Planning Act to consider:
     
    • An application for a Draft Plan of Subdivision and a Zoning By-law Amendment for the lands located at 538 Bevel Line.

    • An application to add a large-scale greenhouse to allow for expansion of the greenhouse operation for the lands located at 806 Mersea Road 4.

    • An application to rezone the lands located at 120 Mersea Road 5 to allow establishment of an Agricultural Contractor’s Yard.

  • Consider implementing a speed limit sign of 50km/h on Seacliff Drive West from Sherk Street to 70 m East of Fraser Road.

  • An updated Accessible Customer Service Policy which emphasizes the Municipality’s aim to meet and exceed AODA requirements, focusing on respect, equal opportunity and service integration.

  • Offering a debenture for drainage works for culvert replacements where the net assessments are greater than $5,000.

  • Designating lands as an open highway to facilitate the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Talbot Street West and Armstrong Drive, adjacent to the entrance to Leamington Medical Village.

  • The proposed Petition Policy containing consistent requirements for both paper-based and electronic petitions and aims to make the process for submitting petitions less cumbersome and more transparent for members of the public.

  • Amending the Terms of Reference for the Leamington Accessibility Advisory Committee, Accessibility Award Framework to exclude current Council representatives appointed to the Accessibility Advisory Committee from being eligible for the annual Accessibility Award.

  • Authorizing the 2026 Service Agreement between the Corporation of the County of Essex and the Corporation of The Municipality of Leamington for the delivery of the Pathway to Potential (P2P) poverty reduction programs.

  • Permitting Administration to enter into a Letter of Understanding with the Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority for the Green Bin Program.

  • A request from the Municipality of Lakeshore to plant approximately 200 trees on municipally owned trail lands in the Staples area.

  • A report regarding Memorandum of Understanding with the Leamington Flyers.
