Council Considers – May 12, 2026

At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, May 12, 2026, Council will:

  • Hold a Public Meeting under the Drainage Act to consider an Engineer’s Report for a culvert extension over the Robert Anderson Drain.

  • Consider a request to fund the Green Municipal Fund’s Growing Canada’s Community Canopies project which is a federal initiative that supports planting trees across the country.

  • Consider proposed amendments to the Business Licensing By-law, Parks By-law and Noise By-law for the purpose of exempting the Waterfront Market Plaza from provisions to permit ongoing food and beverage vending and entertainment activities.

  • Consider a report regarding the 2026 municipal partners funding and municipal grant allotments as proposed by the Municipal Grants Review Committee.

  • Consider the annual Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act statistical report which provides information on access requests that are received by the municipality, the municipality’s response time, the decisions that were made in response to these requests and the fees charged.

  • Consider annual inspection reports on municipal drinking water systems, specifically the Leamington (Union) Distribution System and the Leamington (Wheatley) Distribution System.

  • Consider a report regarding a proposed by-law to designate a Site Plan Control Area and exempt certain development from the requirement for Site Plan approval to regulate the placement of buildings and structures on a property.
