Council Considers – October 14, 2025
At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, October 14, 2025, Council will:
- Consider Municipal Support Resolutions to confirm support in principle for project proposals to the Independent Electricity System Operator’s Long-Term 2 procurement process that aims to help meet Ontario’s projected electricity needs between 2029 and 2034.
- Consider a Zoning By-law Amendment to remove the Holding (H) symbol from the zoning of the properties located at 1-20 Vista Isle Avenue subject to a third reading of by-law 85-25 upon acceptance of the servicing.
- Consider awarding the contract for the Maple Askew Sewer Reconstruction to Nevan Construction Inc. in the amount of $277,770 (plus HST).
- Consider approving internet voting for the 2026 Municipal Election to be held on October 26, 2026.
- Consider reducing the time period to pass a resolution by making an amendment to the proposed budget from 30 days to 11 days. Council will also consider reducing the time period to override the Mayor’s veto of an amendment to the proposed budget from 15 days to 1 day.
- Consider awarding the contract for the Municipal Office Improvements - Phase 2 project to Barrineti Construction Ltd. in the amount of $110,686.81 (Plus HST). Council will also consider awarding the contract administration for the Municipal Office Improvements – Phase 2 project to J.P. Thomson Architects Ltd. in the amount of $6,800 (plus HST).
- Consider approving a Privacy Breach Response Policy and Procedure which outlines procedures for preventing, detecting, and responding to privacy incidents and privacy breaches.
- Consider appointing Councillor Tiessen and Councillor Wilkinson as Council representatives to the Leamington Committee of Adjustment for a one-year term expiring on December 31, 2026. Council will also consider appointing Mayor MacDonald as an Alternate Member to the Committee of Adjustment for a term to expire on December 31, 2026.
- Consider approving the extension of the winter parking lot maintenance contract to Landscape Effects Group for an additional three-year term.
