Council Matters – August 25, 2026
At the Leamington Council meeting on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, Council:
- Approved Consent B-10-26 and Zoning By-law Amendment 377 for 10 and 16 Mersea Road 19, to rezone from an Agricultural Hobby Farm Zone (A3) to an Agricultural Residential Zone (A5) and an Agricultural Hobby Farm Zone (A3) to a site-specific Agricultural General Zone (A1-51) to prohibit residential uses and buildings.
- Received a presentation from Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island & Invest WindsorEssex about Economic Development and Tourism, Board Approved Recommendations.
- Awarded the 2026 Mersea Road 1 Resurfacing Project to Mill-Am Corporation in the amount of $2,227,628 (plus applicable taxes) and approved additional funding up to $843,253 (plus applicable taxes) from the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund.
- Approved an additional amount of $703,226 (including net HST) to Sterling Ridge Infrastructure Inc for the Northeast Trunk Sewer and Seacliff Drive Reconstruction Phase 2-4 project.
- Appointed a Proxyholder for the Union Water Supply System Inc., Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
