Council Matters – June 9, 2026

At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Council:

  • Approved naming the municipal park located at 47 Erie Street South “Migrant Worker Square” and installing the Italian Centennial Park sign at 1 John Street.
  • Approved the initiation of recycling at Rick Atkin Park, Waterfront Market Plaza, Seacliff Park, Kinsmen Baseball Diamonds, Leamington Pure Flavor Soccer Complex and Mersea Park and approved the use of natural plantings as opposed to artificial turf in municipal rights of way and in public parks.
  • Approved the extension of the Employee and Family Assistance Program services by FSEAP in the amount of $9,030.00 (plus HST) for 2026 for a three-year term.
  • Approved issuing a purchase order to Andritz Separation Inc. in the amount of $95,590 USD (excluding tax) to purchase and replace the centrifuge variable frequency drives at the Leamington Pollution Control Centre.
  • Approved a Visitor Policy which outlines the rules and procedures for Visitors visiting the Municipal Building.
  • Received the 2025 Budget Restatement for information.
