Council Matters – March 24, 2026
At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, March 24, 2026, Council:
- Approved an application to rezone 320 Erie Street North to permit a seven-storey residential building with 118 rental units and a drive-thru restaurant.
- Denied an application to rezone 107 Robson Road and 6 Donald Avenue to facilitate the development of a 14-storey, 60-unit, condominium building.
- Reconsidered a Council resolution regarding the 2027 Ontario Gymnastics Championships and denied the request to remove the ice from the Highbury Canco Arena to accommodate the 2027 Ontario Gymnastics Championships at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre.
- Authorized a request to extend an access culvert over the Robert Anderson Drain and appointed Baird AE to complete the Engineer’s Report for the culvert extension.
- Authorized Administration to retain ML Consulting to conduct a compensation review for the Municipality’s Council and Agency, Board and Committees.
- Received for information an annual report regarding the activities of the Leamington Accessibility Advisory Committee in 2025 and amended the Committee’s Terms of Reference to allow for an annual Accessibility Award.
- Approved an application for Bevel Line Village to be exempt from Part Lot Control for the purpose of creating eight townhouses located on Eagle Street.
- Received a report from the Treasurer regarding the 2025 remuneration and expenses paid to members of Council, Boards and Committees.
- Directed Administration to bring a report to Council regarding the estimated cost to reconstruct a tar and chip surface on Mersea Road D.
