Leamington Offers Free Transit Rides for Grade 8 Students During March Break
The Municipality of Leamington is pleased to announce the return of its LT-Go Grade 8 Program for a third consecutive year, continuing its commitment to introducing young residents to the benefits of public transportation.
As part of this initiative, all Grade 8 students in Leamington will receive a free LT-Go transit pass for unlimited rides during March Break, from Friday, March 7, 2025, through to and including Sunday, March 16, 2025. The program provides students with a convenient and free way to travel throughout the community during March Break while fostering independent travel skills and supporting future transit use.
Mayor Hilda MacDonald highlighted the broader vision behind the initiative, stating, “The LT-Go Grade 8 program is about more than just free rides—it’s about empowering our young residents with independence and confidence in using public transit. By familiarizing them with the system now, we’re helping to prepare them for the future, whether that means commuting to work, attending post-secondary education, or travelling within new communities. Our aim is to foster a generation that recognizes the value of public transportation and integrates it into their daily lives.”
The Municipality is partnering with local schools to distribute the transit passes to ensure easy access.
