Time: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

The Municipality has retained BT Engineering Inc. to complete a Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for improvements to Mersea Road 1, from County Road 33 to Mersea Road 12.

As part of the MCEA, the Municipality has evaluated alternatives to address future transportation needs and is recommending the widening of Mersea Road 1 to increase road capacity and accommodate planned population growth.

What will be presented?

The second Public Consultation Centre will provide an opportunity to review the 60% detailed design drawings for the recommended plan and provide feedback to the project team.

Information presented will include:

  • proposed property acquisition requirements;
  • project staging
  • an advance contract for sanitary servicing and stormwater management; and
  • proposed mitigation measures associated with project implementation.

 Project team members will be available to answer questions and discuss the recommended design.

About the study

The study is being completed in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process. This includes identifying the need and justification for the project, evaluating reasonable alternatives, considering potential impacts on the natural, social and cultural environments, and consulting with the public, interested parties and Indigenous Peoples. Caldwell First Nation has been consulted throughout the project.
