Municipality of Leamington Offering Fare-Free LT-Go Transit on Election Day

The Municipality of Leamington will offer fare-free LT-Go transit on Municipal Election Day, Monday, October 26, 2026, to support accessible and inclusive voter participation.

“We want to make it as easy and accessible as possible for eligible electors to participate in the municipal election,” said Brenda Percy, Municipal Clerk. “Offering fare-free transit on Election Day provides residents with another option to get to a voting location and helps reduce potential transportation and financial barriers to voting.”

All LT-Go rides will be free on Election Day, with regular service available throughout the day. Fare-free transit will be available to everyone using LT-Go and will not be limited to trips to voting locations.

Booking LT-Go on Election Day

Passengers booking through the Blaise Transit app must select “Pay on board (cash)” as their payment method for rides taking place on October 26. No payment will be collected when passengers board the bus.

Passengers should not select their Blaise wallet or smart card as their payment method, as this may result in the fare being charged automatically.

Residents can book LT-Go rides up to seven days in advance through the Blaise Transit app or by calling 519-325-5960. Book same-day rides at least 45 minutes before the desired departure time.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and book Election Day trips early.

In addition to supporting access to voting, fare-free transit gives residents a chance to try LT-Go and learn more about the Municipality’s on-demand transit service.
