Notice of Election
Election Day – Monday, October 26, 2026
In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, the Municipality of Leamington will conduct a municipal election on Monday, October 26, 2026, for the following offices:
Municipal Council:
- Mayor, one to be elected at large
- Deputy Mayor, one to be elected at large
- Councillor, five to be elected at large
School Board Trustee
One trustee will be elected for each of the following school boards:
- Greater Essex County District School Board (English Public School Board)
- Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence (French Separate School Board)
Voting Method
The Municipality of Leamington’s 2026 Municipal Election will be conducted in person with paper ballots and a Vote Anywhere model. Eligible electors may vote at any of the voting locations listed below.
When voting, please bring:
- Your Voter Information Letter
- One piece of acceptable identification showing your name and qualifying Leamington address
Voter Information Letters
Voter Information Letters will be mailed to eligible electors on or about September 21, 2026.
If you are an eligible elector and did not receive your Voter Information Letter by October 1, 2026, please contact the Clerk’s Office at clerks@leamington.ca or by calling 519-326-5761 during regular business hours before Election Day.

Proxy Voting
If you are unable to vote in person on any of the available voting days, you may appoint another qualified elector to vote on your behalf.
A qualified elector may act as a voting proxy for:
- One qualified elector who is not a relative; or
- One or more qualified electors who are relatives.
A proxy certificate is required. To arrange an appointment, call 519-326-5761 or email clerks@leamington.ca before Saturday, October 24, 2026.
Appointments are required. Proxy certificates will not be issued on Election Day.
