Traffic Calming Measures Coming to Bennie Avenue

The Municipality of Leamington is taking steps to enhance safety for residents and road users along Bennie Avenue.

In response to multiple complaints and a community petition regarding speeding in the area, the Municipality conducted a thorough review, including traffic counts and vehicle speed studies. Based on the data collected, it was determined that traffic calming measures are warranted to improve safety in this residential neighbourhood.

As a result, speed humps will be installed on Bennie Avenue from Oak Street to Peter Avenue beginning Monday, May 26, 2025, weather permitting. Construction is expected to take approximately three days to complete.

To accommodate this work, Bennie Avenue will be closed daily during construction from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with local access maintained for area residents.
