Cemeteries
The Municipality of Leamington administers and promotes the professional operation of all municipal cemeteries for the purpose of dignified burials and cremations.
The Municipality owns the following cemeteries:

The operation of the cemetery is subject to provincial laws and regulations as well as the Municipality's Cemetery By-law. The By-law provides for control of Lots, Memorializations, flowers, etc.

Burial Lot Owners - Information Update
The Municipality of Leamington is asking all burial lot owners in its municipal cemeteries, including Albuna, Bayview, Fairview, and Lakeview, to update their contact details. Keeping your address, phone number, and email current allows the Municipality to reach you with important updates or questions.

The Municipality of Leamington operates four active cemeteries and oversees the maintenance of eight inactive cemeteries.

Fees and Services | ||||
Lots can be purchased at Albuna, Fairview, and Lakeview Cemeteries. Lots are currently not for sale in Bayview Cemetery. Burials may take place in the active cemeteries subject to the safety and stability of existing Lots. The Employment and Social Services Department of the City of Windsor provides financial assistance on behalf of deceased residents of the Windsor-Essex County region that do not have sufficient funds in their estate to fully cover the cost of a basic funeral, burial and/or cremation. |

Genealogical Searches | ||||
Genealogy/Family Search Families and genealogists can look up burial information on their ancestors or their own family Lot. Detailed information about the deceased's location, date of burial and a photo of the monument may be accessed by utilizing one of the following services below:

If you have difficulty in conducting your own search, the Essex County Branch of the The Ontario Genealogical Society may be able to assist you. Ontario Registrar General's eServices If you are still unable to locate the Lot or family member you are searching for, you may submit a Genealogy Research Request by completing the below form. The fee associated with a genealogical research request is $250.00 plus HST. Any questions with respect to genealogical research conducted by Municipal Staff may be directed to registrar@leamington.ca. |
