Marriage Licences and Ceremonies
Leamington’s Marriage Licence Application is now digital! Complete your application, upload your documents, pay online and a Customer Service Representative will be in contact with you to schedule a Marriage Licence pick-up appointment.
Please note that Marriage Licence pick-ups will only be scheduled on Fridays during regular office hours. Marriage Licences are non-refundable.
Before you get started, be sure to have the following documents on hand:
- Original Certificate(s) of Divorce, if applicable.
- Valid Authorization to Remarry (Foreign Divorce Authorization), if applicable.
- Two pieces of valid identification for each applicant. One piece of identification must include a photo. See chart below.

Marriage Licence Validity
- All marriage licences are valid for a period of 3 months (90 days) from date of issue.
Civil Wedding Ceremonies
The Municipality of Leamington conducts Civil Ceremonies.
Current fees (including 13% HST) are as follows:
- During office hours - $276.85
- During office hours (other than English) - $327.70
- After office hours and/or off site - $367.25
- After office hours and Non-English - $418.10
- Mileage costs beyond Leamington’s boundary - $0.68 per kilometer

Photo Session - Gallery Rental
The Municipality of Leamington will offer the Gallery at the Leamington Municipal Building for photo session rentals after office hours and on weekends. Two-hour sessions are subject to availability and approval Monday through Friday 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. View our photo session page for more information.

Marriage Certificates
Service Ontario is the only government-authorized source for Ontario marriage certificates. You may apply six to eight weeks after your marriage ceremony.
- The easiest and fastest way to order a marriage certificate is online through Service Ontario.
- To order a marriage certificate by mail simply complete the form that was included with your marriage licence or download the Request for Marriage Certificate Form.
