  • Municipality of Leamington Offers Free LT-Go Transit Passes to Grade 8 Students for March Break

    The Municipality of Leamington is pleased to announce the return of its LT-Go Grade 8 Program, continuing its commitment to introducing young residents to the benefits of public transportation.

  • Seacliff Drive West Roundabout Construction Project Update

    The Municipality of Leamington is advising residents that work on the Seacliff Drive West Roundabout project will resume the week of March 2, 2026, with construction beginning on Clearwater Street.

    Clearwater Street is the new roadway connection being constructed from the roundabout to service the adjacent development. During this phase of work, Seacliff Drive West will remain open to traffic.

    This work is part of the Municipality’s plan to resume construction and complete the outstanding elements of the new roundabout at Seacliff Drive West.

  • Update: Margaret, Audrey, Jane, Claire and Sherk Street Sewer Separation and Road Reconstruction

    The Municipality of Leamington is advising residents that work on the Margaret, Audrey, Jane, Claire and Sherk Street Sewer Separation and Road Reconstruction Project will resume the week of February 23, 2026, weather permitting.

    During this phase of work, the temporary road connection to Sherk Street at the east end of Claire Street will be reestablished to maintain resident access.

  • Recycling Container Take Back Program

    Circular Materials introduced a new residential recycling program on January 1, 2026. This new recycling program will only accept recyclables in carts provided by Circular Materials. Therefore, many residents have old recycle boxes or recycle carts that are no longer needed or are incompatible with the new residential recycling program.

    Q: Why did the County launch a Green Bin program?

    A: The Province of Ontario mandated the collection of food and organic waste through curbside pick-up, public drop-off sites or community composting programs for urban settlement areas in municipalities of a certain population and/or population density. In our County, Amherstburg, LaSalle, Leamington and Tecumseh triggered these population and/or density thresholds. The mandate required these local municipalities to achieve target diversion rates of 50 per cent generated by single-family dwellings in urban settlement areas by 2025.

  • Road Closure and Detour Information - Seacliff Drive East Reconstruction Project

    As part of ongoing infrastructure improvements, the Municipality of Leamington is advancing the next phase of the Seacliff Drive East Reconstruction Project. During active construction, Seacliff Drive East will be closed to through traffic between Regatta Drive and Seneca Road, with work expected to begin in early February.

    The Municipality of Leamington is pleased to announce the appointment of Tammie Ryall as its new Director of Strategic Initiatives and Municipal Design, effective February 2, 2026.

    In this senior leadership role, Ryall will oversee Planning and Development Services, Organizational Excellence, and Communications and Corporate Identity, supporting the Municipality’s strategic priorities and long-term vision for growth, service excellence, and community-building.

    Seacliff Drive East Reconstruction – Construction Starting February 2026

    The Municipality of Leamington is moving forward with the next phase of improvements to Seacliff Drive East. Construction is expected to begin in early February 2026 and will result in traffic interruptions, including lane restrictions, delays, and temporary road closures within the project area.

    The Municipality of Leamington is working with StrategyCorp to complete a Service Delivery Review for its Recreation Department. This review will examine how recreation services are currently delivered, including operations at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre and Marina, and will help identify opportunities to enhance programs and improve the overall customer experience.
