Notice to Leamington Residents: Recycling Cart Exchange Program Now AvailableThe Municipality of Leamington is advising residents of upcoming changes to the region’s recycling program being implemented by Circular Materials, the organization responsible for managing residential recycling collection in Windsor-Essex. While the Municipality of Leamington is not responsible for recycling collection, we are sharing this information to ensure residents are aware of program updates and the available cart exchange option.

- All budget presentations were completed today, December 10, 2025. As a result, the Council meeting scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2025, has been cancelled.

The Results Are In: Announcing the Winners of the 2025 Mayor’s Holiday Card Design ContestThe Municipality of Leamington is pleased to announce the winners of the 2025 Mayor’s Holiday Card Design Contest.
Now in its second year, the contest invited Grade 4 and 5 students from local schools to submit original artwork for a chance to be featured on the cover of the Mayor’s Holiday Greeting Card.

Leamington Santa Claus Parade – Road Closures and Transit Impacts*Please note that this release has been updated to include that Erie Street will be closed from Countess Street to Wilkinson Drive during the parade.The annual Leamington Santa Claus Parade will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

Temporary Intersection Closure – Sherk Street & Ellison AvenuePaving work on Sherk Street is scheduled to begin Thursday, November 20, 2025, as part of the ongoing area sewer separation and road reconstruction project.
To safely complete this work, the intersection of Sherk Street and Ellison Avenue will be closed for the day, following the morning bus routes.

This strategic partnership enhances regional connectivity and ensures greater access to reliable transportation for residents of Caldwell First Nation and the surrounding areas.

New Blue Recycling Carts Being Delivered – Do Not Use Until January 2026New blue recycling carts have begun being delivered to Leamington residents this week as part of the region’s transition to a single-stream recycling system, effective January 1, 2026.
Please note that the new carts are for recycling only and cannot be used until the new system begins.
