  • Council Matters – September 23, 2025

    At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Council:

    • Held a Court of Revision under the Drainage Act and confirmed the Schedule of Assessment in the Engineer’s report for a new access bridge over the South Dales Drain - 9th Concession Branch.
    • Council confirmed the Schedule of Assessment in the Engineer’s report for two (2) new access bridges over the 10th Concession Road Drain East.
  • Municipality of Leamington Moving Forward with Final Phase of Demolition at Former Secondary School

    The Municipality of Leamington is preparing to move ahead with the final phase of demolition at the former Leamington District Secondary School, located at 125 Talbot Street West. Work will begin in early fall 2025, carried out by a contractor on behalf of the Municipality.

    Municipality of Leamington Challenges Residents to Test Their Smoke Alarms

    Test Your Smoke Alarm Day Takes Place September 28 Across Ontario

    Municipality of Leamington Fire Chief Don Williamson is urging Leamington residents to test their smoke alarms on, Sunday, September 28, and once a month after as part of Test Your Smoke Alarm Day.

    The Municipality of Leamington is joining the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) and communities across Ontario to educate and encourage practicing basic fire safety with a working smoke alarm in the home.

  • Seacliff Drive West Road and Infrastructure Project

    The Municipality of Leamington is undertaking a major road and infrastructure project along Seacliff Drive West. This work will modernize underground services, improve road safety, and prepare the area for future residential growth.

  • Council Matters – September 9, 2025

    At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Council:

    • Held a Public Meeting under the Planning Act and approved an application to sever 4.19 hectares from the vacant parcel of land located at Highway 77 and Mersea Road 5; approved an application to establish a permanent easement on the retained lands for access to the east side of the Beacom Drain; and approved an application to rezone lands from Agricultural General Zone (A1) to Commercial Industrial Zone, and Commercial.

    Leamington Enhances Waterfront with Boardwalk Extension, Landmark Archway, and Market Plaza Project

    The Municipality of Leamington is pleased to share updates on exciting enhancements to its waterfront, including the extension and twinning of the Seacliff Beach boardwalk, the installation of a new landmark archway sign, and the construction of the Waterfront Market Plaza. These enhancements deliver on the Leamington Waterfront Destination Master Plan, advancing the Municipality’s vision of a vibrant, accessible waterfront destination that welcomes residents and attracts visitors.

  • Oak Street West Roadwork Update

    A contractor working on behalf of the Municipality of Leamington has completed the placement of the final asphalt surface on Oak Street West from Fraser Avenue to White Street.

    The road is now open to traffic; however, intermittent lane closures will continue as finishing work, including adjustments to manholes and line painting, is completed.
