  • Road Reconstruction and Sewer Separation Project to Begin in April 2025

    Contractors working on behalf of the Municipality of Leamington will be undertaking a sewer separation and road reconstruction project on multiple streets as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements. Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2025 and is expected to be completed by November 2025, weather permitting.

  • Emergency Road Closure - County Rd 31

    County Road 31 (Albuna Townline) is closed immediately north of County Road 20 (Seacliff Drive) to County Road 34 (Talbot Road) for an emergency gas main repair.

    This closure is necessary to repair a gas main leak, with repair work being undertaken by Enbridge Gas.

  • Council Matters – March 4, 2025

    At the Leamington Council meeting of March 4, 2025, Council:

    • Held a Court of Revision under the Drainage Act and confirmed the Schedule of Assessment in the engineer’s report for a new access culvert for the 8th Concession Branch of the Big Creek Drain.
    • Approved a proposal to convert a single residential dwelling located at 719 Mersea Road 4, into an off-site farm worker dwelling and to establish requirements for parking, bicycle parking and loading spaces.

    The Municipality of Leamington is inviting community members to nominate outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations for the fourth annual Mayor’s Recognition Awards—a program that honours those who have made significant contributions to the community.

    The Mayor’s Recognition Awards celebrate excellence in various aspects of community life, from athletics and innovation to volunteerism and youth leadership.

    The Municipality of Leamington, in partnership with the Leamington Arts Centre, the Leamington Uptown Business Improvement Area (BIA), and The Bank Theatre, is excited to announce the return of the Mill St. Market for summer 2025.

    Temporary Road Closure – Robson Road Reconstruction and Traffic Calming Project

    The Municipality of Leamington will be undertaking a road reconstruction and traffic calming project on Robson Road, from Erie Street South to Cherry Lane. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 10, 2025 (weather permitting) and is expected to take approximately two months to complete.

  • Council Matters– February 25, 2025

    At the Leamington Council meeting of February 25, 2025, Council:

    • Received a plaque presented by the Mayor and Council of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent acknowledging the Municipality of Leamington’s assistance in providing water resources to Wheatley and Tilbury following the fire at the Wheatley Water Treatment Plant. 
    • Approved a proposal to construct one new 5-storey, 49-unit residential building located at 4 White Street, 8 Askew Street, 10 Askew Street, 103 Erie Street South, 105 Erie Street.
